Dear Earthlings,

I hope this transmission finds you well. Since my landing on your Blue Planet January 15th at Mezzo Lunatico, The Moon Maiden Stardust , Earth Probe DD Sputnik and I have been exploring your Green Village by the water, we find you quite humorous and are puzzled by your obsession with Love and the rituals that come with it. We do not understand the connection of grooming toe nails and going out. What is the connection with St. Valentine and your emotion Love? The information we have gathered about this day tells us about killing wolves in Rome and the killing of Italian men with guns in Chicago on this day. Are Italian men wolves? We will further investigate this topic on February 19th with the next specimens we have collected from the time capsule we found in our crater on on home Moon.

The Moon Maven

February 19 Mezzo Lunatico !

Lily Verlaine - The Living Breathing Work of Art

Poppy Daze - Returning to your village after eight months on the continent of Europe. She’s no flounder ! But the Founder of The Original Aerial Girl Gang! The Aerialistas !

Cherdonna and Lou - An alien force landed in Capitol Hill’s Oddfellows Building last winter, when every Friday for seven weeks, a sparkly yet mysterious duo known as The Cherdonna & Lou Show performed an unclassifiable act—a series of skits involving lip syncing, tap syncing, piano syncing,  modern dance and celebrity impressions. It was a cabaret as if performed by extraterrestrials new to the planet. Brangien Davis – Seattle Magazine

Mark Pickerel -  ” Sing[s] with the gloomy conviction of a man holding a bottle in one hand and pistol in the other.” — Mojo

Music Director Michael Musburger

Miss Astrid has been called “the true weimar fraulein” by Mel Gordon, author of Voluptuous Panic with “Enough attitude to sink the Bismark”, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Arguably, the best Burlesque emcee in the US, she is known for her deadpan delivery, impeccable timing and razor sharp wit. She performed with the very first neo burlesque troupe, The Velvet Hammer Burlesque, 1996-present. You have read and heard about her via NPR, BBC, Time Magazine, and the New York Times. Besides having the first bicoastal burlesque show ever in NYC and San Francisco, Miss Astrid creator of The Va Va Voom Room 1997-present has performed all over the US including the New York Burlesque Festival and Miss Exotic World Pageant in Las Vegas, Stockholm, London, and Switzerland.

That’s how Miss Astrid’s bio reads….. and that is what I call some serious Burly chops … and you have 3, count them … 1, 2 ,3 opportunities to interact with her in Seattle, each opportunity features one aspect of  varied talents as a performer or teacher.

Our Lady J

“Gospel for The Godless”

OUR LADY J’s “Gospel for The Godless” is a musical celebration of original music, penned by the Lady herself. Inspired by traditional Gospel music services, this show is anything but traditional: Our Lady J promises to deliver a new testament of post-religious gospel music with a rousing set that promises to deliver you from your woes, sans the usual dogmatic baggage. A self-proclaimed transexual spiritualist, Our Lady J is
revitalizing the genre one song at a time, while remaining true to what gospel music was intended to be- powerful, uplifting music for
all of humankind.

Testimonials from the congregation:

“Stunning!” - New York Magazine

“A fierce diva!”Perez Hilton

“Strange Fruit”

A dear friend’s 80-year-old mother sums it up best…. ” I never thought I would live to see Billie Holiday perform live!”

Legendary underground entertainer-turned international cabaret sensation Joey Arias returns to Seattle’s historic Triple Door theatre once again, for an evening of signature song and banter, accompanied by his longtime pianist and creative co-conspirator, Eliot Douglass. Fresh from a five-year run as emcee/”Mistress of Seduction” for Zumanity: the Sultry Side of Cirque de Soleil, a role created expressly for him, Arias is the 2009 recipient of GLAAD’s “Off Off Broadway” Award for Arias With a Twist, an intimate “cabinet of curiosities” melding Arias’ legendary voice with puppeteer Basil Twist’s lavish, ecstatic visual creations.

For one night only, Arias and Douglass will appear at the Triple Door, performing original works alongside the material of Ms. Holiday–as only Joey Arias can conjure her. A two-time “Critic’s Choice” and “Pick of the Week” (Los Angeles Times), Seattle Gay News writer Sara Michelle Fetters said this of his last Triple Door performance:  “To say he left victorious would be something of an understatement… the only thing strange about this particular fruit is just how darn brilliant he really is.” -SGN, April 9 ’08

Outrageous and avant-garde, Joey’s one-of-kind voice and thoroughly modern take on the music of Ms. Holiday continues to bend minds, winning over music and theatre lovers all across the planet. He has been featured at such diverse spaces as NYC’s hallowed Carnegie Hall and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has collaborated with countless influential artists, including David Bowie and the late Klaus Nomi.

The Swedish Housewife Presents the first annual Seafarer Follies! An aquatic cabaret to make Flo Ziegfeld fall off his boat. Just like in the olden days when “The Aqua Follies” rocked Greenlake, the Seafarer Follies! is the perfect Seafair antidote to loud boats, loud planes and suburban parades.

For our first commemorative year, performance artist Bradford Scobie (NYC) will be at the helm. With acts by Moisture Festival favorites: Trixie Little and The Evil Hate “Sea”-Monkey (Baltimore) and debuting Bambi The Mermaid (Coney Island), Seattle all stars Waxie Moon as King Neptune, The Shanghai Pearl, The Swedish Housewife, and introducing Thee Bearded Clam Chorus!!! Of course, a Real Live Band will be rockin’ the boat!

Come dressed to the nine fathoms in your most outrageous nautical, aquatic, flyboy, flygirl, sailor, sea captain, mermaid, merman, or “you make it up” costume to win prizes and the prestigious year long title of  The Royal Sea Urchin!

That’s right, more flotsam and jetsam than you can shake a stick at… more crustaceans than you can put in a pot! You can’t throw a catfish on this stage and not hit a mermaid! Packed full of Sardines and Sailors!!! Blue Angels, Red Devils, and not your average Chicken of the Sea!

Guaranteed to be Off The Hook!
